a telnet client. Most versions of windows came with a microsoft telnet client or one can be easily downloaded. Telnet isn't the most beautiful way to connect, though. The best, easiest, and most enjoyable program to use is a MUD Client. MUD Clients are basically over-glorifed telnet clients, but their added features make game play easier and more sophisticated. For example, a typical telnet client will not show Alanthia in color. If you do plan on using a telnet client, be sure to turn local echo on so you can see what your typing as you type.
